my Quicken will not create a .qif, what can I do?

If it turns out that you have to spend money to take off the Intuit
handcuffs, then is there perhaps a newer version of Quicken available for NZ
that *does* export QIF? Versions that are a few years old (but newer than
yours) might only cost $5. I also see that MS Money claims to be able to
import .qdf files, and export QIF files. So a $5 version of that might do
the trick, if available for NZ.

When I saw that MS Money can import QDF's, I wondered if I might be able to
find out the format of this file (once the password is removed). But I
searched and unfortunately couldn't find anything about it. If we knew the
format, it might be possible to write an importer for it at some point. But
the QDF format seems to change with every version of Quicken, so it might be
a moving target.
