Not counting the files that gnucash itself creates during the build,  
there are in excess of 150 supporting files/libraries that you would  
have to move to the right place (same /sw hierarchy). It might even be  
more like 500 files, since the 150+ is just the number of fink  
packages that have to be installed before gnucash can be built. And  
each of those packages is probably more than one file. Some of them,  
of course, are only needed during the build. But I'd still guess  
there's more than one file per package required at runtime. Needless  
to say, I don't know all the files that would have to be copied.

Welcome to the blessing and the curse of open source software. Someday  
there may be a mac installable image where all those support files get  
rolled into the app. But we're not there, and it would be a lot of work.
