Was fink installed under a user other than your 'normal user'? The
piece of a fink install that must be run by each user is
/sw/bin/pathsetup.sh
(provided you accepted the default /sw as the root of fink. Sometimes
this piece doesn't run entirely successfully on its own, even for the
user installing. But you should only have to try running once more,
even if something was amiss the first time.
What error message do you get in terminal or xterm when you try to run
gnucash?
